Biography
After starting out as a directing major in the theatre studies program Hayley ended up graduating with a BFA degree in Acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Breaking into her new-found passion with a role in the highly popular "Vagina Monologues" Hayley went on to enjoy roles in many theatrical productions including Viola in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" and Emma in "Fefu and her Friends" . In 2000 she performed in the musical "The Lost Domain" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which went on to a well-received run at the Royal London Opera House in January 2001.
With such a strong background in theatre Hayley then decided that it was time to broaden her experience and begin working towards a career in film and television. She packed up her belongings and headed West to the hills of Hollywood. A New Zealander originally, but having grown up in Hong Kong, the move was not so daunting and Hayley was delighted by the melting pot culture of LA that reminded her of home. She began with some small shows at the Avery Schreiber Theatre and Zombie Joes Underground Theatre and started doing some independant films.
After a call back for the feature film "Dante's Inferno" Hayley saw her opportunities open up in a new way, she found herself returning to Hong Kong to shoot some commercials and local TV. Her wanderlust then took her to Milan, Italy where she began work with Primostudio performing in an Italian play, and then in their program "English on Stage" and "Shakespeare Quiz". Hayley now finds herself managing a global career moving between the continents for different projects.
She has trained in Suzuki/Viewpoints with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company in Saratoga Springs, NY as well as the "method" technique with Robert Castle from the Lee Strasberg Institute NYC. She continues to train and work in Milan, Hong Kong and Los Angeles making her home wherever her work calls her.
