Question: How do I find legitimate agents that are not looking for my money? --Barry

Answer: This is a very valid question as there are agencies all across the country that prey on desperate actors and think they can get some money out of them. First of all, you must remember that you should give NO money to ANY agent for ANY reason. Agents make 10% of the money you make from work they helped you get. Never give any agency money for "getting in their book" or any other reason they want your money. SAG-franchised agencies are governed by the union and need to follow many rules -- one of them being only allowed to take 10% commission from your salary.
